GOVERNORS AT OUR SCHOOL

What do they do?

Governors are the biggest group of voluntary workers in the UK. The role of this Governing Board is to ensure that children who attend our school receive a great all round education in an environment which is suitable for this purpose. The School works hard to ensure that the children reach their full potential, are equipped for the next step in their education journey and to becoming good citizens.

The Statutory Core Duties of a Governing Board are:

1.  Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction

2. Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils

3.  Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

The Governing Board has nine Governor Members:

  • two  Parent Governors
  • one other School Staff Governor
  • one Local Authority
  • two Foundation Governor
  • three Co-opted Governors
  • the Headteacher

Co-opted Governors are chosen by the Governing Board for their particular knowledge or skill(s).

The Register of Governors Business Interests is kept in the School Office: please ask if you wish to see it.

Our School has been graded 'Good' by Ofsted and we are working to gain an 'Outstanding’ rating. We are quite rightly very proud of our great School. We always welcome suggestions, feedback and ideas from pupils, parents / carers, staff or just even a chat!
