Our Vision & Values

  • The school aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum and to establish a happy community in which positive attitudes to learning and relationships can be encouraged.
  • The main work of the school is to give every child the opportunities to develop his/her maximum potential in all areas of the curriculum and to foster interest in life outside school.
  • Children are encouraged to develop a desire and eagerness to learn, an ability to take pride in their work and have an active involvement in the life of the school. Children are given the opportunity to develop the key skills of application of number, ICT, communication, Self evaluation, working with others and problem solving; and the life skills of Resilience, Resourcefulness, Reflection, Responsibility and Reasoning.
  • As a Church of England School we aim to develop the whole Christian ethos and to encourage children to gain knowledge of the Christian faith. We also encourage knowledge and respect of other faiths and cultures.
  • As a village school we aim to involve parents in school and to foster links with Sutton-in-Craven by actively encouraging children to take part in local events and undertaking studies of local interest and by welcoming the community in to the school.
  • We have a commitment to the United Nation’s convention on the Rights of the Child. We want our pupils to have a voice and to know their rights. We also want our pupils to understand the responsibilities that go with having these rights.
